The Policy Studies Organization (PSO) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing scholarship and fostering multidisciplinary dialogue on a broad spectrum of policy issues. Through academic journals, books, and conferences, PSO aims to support those involved in the development and evaluation of policy. Originally established as an extension of the American Political Science Association, PSO was created to serve scholars from diverse fields who share an interest in the study and discussion of public and organizational policy.

The Policy Studies Organization (PSO), affiliated with the American, Midwest, Southern, and International Political Science Associations, as well as the International Studies Association, was founded out of a shared concern: the need for stronger connections between policy researchers and policy makers. PSO was established to ensure that research findings are effectively communicated to those shaping policies—not only in government, but also within corporations, universities, and other institutions.
